California Coast Romance | May 2017

It’s always fun to be a part of weddings, it’s why we do what we do. That’s a no brainer. We often times become so close with our brides and grooms as we navigate this exciting part of their lives. It’s a journey for us to help make their wedding the most magnificent day of their lives.

What’s even more fun is when the couple is already a friend of ours! That was the case for the recent wedding of Vanessa Luehmann and John Jimenez on May 12th, 2017.

Short backstory: Andrew met Vanessa in 2008 when at a restaurant in which they both worked, stayed friends ever since, and that made it inevitable for them to work together on this joyous occasion.

Ok, now back to the fun stuff!

Gorgeous California weather is nothing new, but this particular La Jolla, CA May day was perfectly set. Vanessa and John, one block away from the ocean, said their “I do’s” at the La Jolla Woman’s Club. The venue, surrounded on three sides by elegant gardens made for the most serene setting with the natural colors reflecting their chosen deep reds, blush pinks, and floral greens.

As the vendors began setting up around noon, both the bride and groom were off living in the moment and basking it all in while we hustled to get all the details perfect for a 2:30PM arrival of guests.

Cue 3pm – its show time!

96 guests, seated under the sun, waited in anticipation to watch the lovely bride walk down the aisle to the man of her dreams. Her bridesmaids accompanied her as Andrew sat with the DJ making sure that each transition had the correct music playing. Music, at any wedding, is a huge deal, leaving impact and emotion, and we wanted to make sure everything was just right.

The greenery helped the sun shine vibrancy over the couple as they exchanged their vows. Their special moments continued as they saw the room beautifully set before anyone else was able to. They breathed in the moment, one that they’d been waiting for forever, and our pride was high as they enjoyed the details they could’ve only imagined.

The guests enjoyed cocktails and passed appetizers in a lively, yet romantic, setting. After photos were concluded with the families and bridal party, Vanessa and John were able to join the party.

The part continued with dinner, dancing, cake and, of course, an enchanting photo booth where guests made memories.

Details that brought the day/night together included:

An encased ceiling with greenery wrapped along market lights

A soft blush backdrop to Vanessa and John’s sweet heart table and added candles around it

‘Welcome to Our Wedding’ programs which sat upon gold chargers at the table

High and low height flowers perfectly and strategically placed with the dining table center pieces, thanks to the florist.
